The Asia Foundation Bangladesh office is seeking a qualified National Coordinator for its elections program to strengthen and support election observation and voter and civic education (VCE) activities by civil society. The National Coordinator will assist a large coalition of NGOs in improving coordination and capacity in conducting election observation, voter and civic education and electoral reform advocacy with the technical support from The Asia Foundation

Job Title: National Coordinator – Elections Program

Job Description:

• The National Coordinator will be responsible for the overall management for observation and VCE activities for national elections expected in late 2013 and planned NGO capacity building and electoral reform advocacy activities thereafter. 

Educational Qualification:

Graduate Degree. 

Work Experience:

Job Requirement:

• A minimum of 7-10 years of relevant NGO management and coordination experience with experience coordinating civil society coalitions of multiple NGO members preferred.
• Knowledge of organizational governance issues and ability to cultivate relationships with a wide range of NGO stakeholders using a facilitative leadership style.
• Ability to develop and implement media strategies to facilitate positive and informed coverage of coalition activities and advocacy positions. 
• Experience developing and managing development projects and budgets, working with government and donor communities, and managing stakeholder relationships.
•  Fluency in spoken and written Bangla and English.
• A relevant graduate degree and experience working with international donor agencies or projects is desirable.
• Specific sectoral expertise in areas related to elections or democratic development, and Experience in civil society strengthening and organizational and institutional capacity building Knowledge of the legal, political, economic, administrative and socio-cultural context of electoral reform in Bangladesh is desirable.
